"When it comes to preventing cavities, drinking fluoridated water, and brushing your teeth with fluoridated toothpaste is not the answer, because fluoride is more toxic than lead. The key is your diet and proper dental care: good old brushing and flossing. By avoiding sugars and processed foods, you help prevent the proliferation of the bacteria that cause decay in the first place." -Dr. Bill Osmunson
What exactly is oil pulling??
Oil pulling is an ancient remedy for oral health and detoxification. Coconut oil is used as an agent to pull harmful bacteria, fungus and other yucky organisms out of the mouth, teeth, gums and even throat.
Have you ever wondered how our ancestor maintained their oral hygiene, without any toothbrushes or toothpaste? Why didn't their teeth rot?
Well, first of all, they ate healthier than today's people; They didn't eat foods with processed sugars and grains, containing Phytic acid, which destroys our enamel. Secondly, they took care of their teeth through natural means, like chew sticks; They rubbed the sticks against the teeth. Third, depending on the culture and region of the world, many people also oil pulled.
This method is safe for all people, including pregnant women and children. All you need is Organic Cold-Pressed or Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, and a table spoon. Swish the oil around for about 10-15 minutes, or as long as you possibly can, for better results. Try to follow these steps every night, before going to bed. You'll notice whiter/healthier teeth, fresher breath, and less illnesses (common colds, and infections).
Oil pulling with other natural oils, such as sesame seed oil, sunflower oil, and adding a teaspoon of baking soda, has been proven to have similar benefits as coconut oil.
Try it out and let me know how it works out for you. I enjoy hearing feedback!
